On May 10, join ASCD at the 2017 Whole Child Symposium, a forum hosted by educators and for educators to discuss today’s pressing education issues. This year's symposium, Confronting Inequity, will address some of the various factors that should be considered when working toward equity in education.

  • Eliza Byard, executive director of the Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network (GLSEN)
  • Linda Cliatt-Wayman, principal of Strawberry Mansion High School in Pennsylvania
  • Montserrat Garibay, vice president of Certified Employees with Education Austin, and National Board-certified teacher in Texas
  • Paul Gorski, associate professor of integrative studies at George Mason University
  • Jose Vilson, founder of EduColor and National Board-certified teacher in New York

The event will begin with a networking reception at 5:00 p.m. The symposium discussion will follow from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., with a closing reception following.
